Holders of the Cave Shepherd Visa Credit Card will soon have a new branded card with additional benefits.

On Friday, Cave Shepherd & Co. Limited launched its latest subsidiary company, Cave Shepherd Card (Barbados) Inc. under the new brand, Payce Digital, a move that company officials said is in response to increasing demand for digital services as well as part of efforts to diversify its portfolio of businesses.

According to Chief Executive Officer of Cave Shepherd Card Barbados Allison Browne-Ellis, Payce Digital paves the way for the introduction of new products and digital services, along with digital payment solutions for the micro and small business sector.

The development will benefit the more than 33 000 cardholders of the more than 40-year-old card.

“There is no doubt that the customer of the future is digital and it is our intention to continue to stay abreast of the changes within this payment industry…. It is against this backdrop that a decision was made to establish the Cave Shepherd Card Business to a separate legal entity – Cave Shepherd Card (Barbados) Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cave Shepherd & Co. Limited. This change gives birth to the introduction of the new brand Payce Digital on the Barbados market,” she said.

“Payce Digital will now offer our cardholders the added convenience and security of eBill payments. From the convenience of any preferred device, our cardholders can now pay many of their utility and other recurring bills through the Payce Digital Mobile App.”

Cave Shepherd board member and Investment Director of Fortress Fund Managers Roger Cave told the gathering that through unchartered waters triggered by COVID-19, the group has been exploring new investment opportunities while diversifying its portfolio of businesses.

“Globally, we are seeing more and more that today’s customer is essentially a digital one. As a group, we fully support the Government’s call for a cashless society. We will continue to focus our efforts on delivering digitally savvy solutions that are convenient, easy to use, secure and affordable in order to help drive efficiency and productivity through digitization,” Cave said.

Under the Payce Digital brand, a new small business credit card will be soon be rolled out as well as enhanced features to the EZ Pay+ Online Platform. (BT)
