The Barbados Meteorological Services said Monday that the area of disturbed weather passing to the north of Barbados is now a potential tropical storm but it poses little threat to the island.
It said the system is moving away from the island.
In its final update on the weather system, issued at 5 p.m., the Met Office said the centre of Potential Tropical Cyclone #6 was located near 75 miles or 120 kilometres to the north of the island.
“Some slow development of this system is still possible as it moves away from Barbados and towards the northern Windwards. The possibility of tropical storm-force winds across Barbados has diminished,” it said, adding that moderate to heavy showers are still Monday tonight. (PR/BT)
