Local NewsNews CBU announces Sonia Gill as Secretary General by Barbados Today 13/08/2021 written by Barbados Today 13/08/2021 2 min read A+A- Reset Share FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 427 The President and Board of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union are pleased to announce that Ms Sonia Gill, the first female Secretary General of the Union, rejoins as head of the Secretariat from September 1, 2021. In welcoming back Ms Gill, CBU President Gary Allen noted that her years of experience as Head of Programme for the UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in the Dutch and English Caribbean, will stand her in good stead as she retakes the reins of the regional organization. Ms Gill also brings an extensive portfolio of media experience to the position as a broadcast journalist and producer with the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in Barbados, as well as a regulator and policy-maker with the Broadcasting Commission of Jamaica (BCJ).
