Alexa Clarke is on her way to becoming a second generation Queen’s College girl and she couldn’t be happier.
The People’s Cathedral school student got 100 in Mathematics and 95 per cent in English and will be looking forward to wearing the QC uniform in the new school year.
Clarke told Barbados TODAY, “I prepared for the examination like how I would usually prepare. I studied and I paid attention in class. My favourite subject is Maths.”
She said she was working toward the 100 per cent in Mathematics so she could make it to the Husbands, St Michael school.
“I was very happy that I made it to my dream school. I would like to thank my family and friends, teachers Mr Peter Parris, Mr Shem Pariss, Mrs Green and Dr Springer Carrington,” she said.
Her mother Andrea Alleyne was elated when she spoke to Barbados TODAY, “I am extremely happy, that is where we wanted her to go. Being a QC girl myself, having her go to QC is just fantastic.”
She explained that her reserved daughter is a dedicated student who didn’t need much push.
“It was fairly easy. I didn’t have to do much because Alexa is a very dedicated student.”
Alleyne said that she is expecting her to continue to do well at her new school. (KB)
