Williams, who was defeated by former Member of Parliament for the City Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic, has since resigned from the DLP and is now canvassing with Lane to ensure the BLP regains that seat. “I told you months ago that I will do everything in my power to assist the Barbados Labour Party to regain the City seat and we are on course. We have been busy, we have been busy, we have been canvassing, we have been connecting with people. “Corey has been doing a wonderful job in terms of fitting into the new role and we are here to support and thus far we have been very busy and the fruits of that labour have been paying off,” Williams said on Monday at the Donald Headley Auditorium where Lane was nominated. The former DLP candidate said even though he has switched parties, he has continued to receive a positive response from constituents in the City. In fact, Williams said he has always remained connected to the City and is always ready to throw his support behind anything that would benefit the people of that constituency. He is confident that the plans and strategies designed by Lane and his team will benefit City constituents. Luckily, we have had a situation where they have been putting some plans in place to assist vulnerable families and there are people within the City who have been saying thanks to the Government for doing that. “Jobs is one of the major concerns that we are also hearing particularly among the youth and the Government is working assiduously again to ensure that we have people employed,” Williams said.
