It was a morning of pomp and circumstance as the newly elected members of parliament, government senators and ministers of government lined the steps of State House to be sworn in for the first time since Barbadians became a republic.
Scores of dignitaries, including diplomats attended the grand event, where numerous prayers were offered on behalf of the nation along with tributes in song from some of the country’s most talented musicians.
