The suit, which was filed Wednesday by lawyers representing former Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite, is asking the court to declare that the Parliament of Barbados is not properly constituted because all 21 members of the Senate have not been appointed. Brathwaite, through his attorneys Michelle Russell and Garth Patterson, QC wants the court to quash the decision of President Dame Sandra Mason to reconvene Parliament. The Senate was scheduled to meet on Friday but that sitting has been postponed. It is not certain when the Upper Chamber will resume, but Barbados TODAY understands the House of Assembly is slated to convene another session next week.
