The family was joined by President Dame Sandra Mason, Prime Minister Mia Mottley, members of both Houses of Parliament, former parliamentarians and members of the Diplomatic Corps. In the little over two-hour long church service, those in attendance heard about the life of the 97-year-old โtrue matriarchโ and a โwoman of deep, deep faith.โ She was also a veteran businesswoman who โloved peopleโ and was loved by many. Senator Thompson, who delivered the appreciation, revealed that her mother, who passed away on January 28, was part of the Wind rush generation. She described her as an โelegant dresser, a fashionista, she loved hatsโ and one who had โa lot of spunk in her. She was a woman of very firm convictionsโ. Her mother, Senator Thompson said, loved her children, her โgrandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly โฆ mothered many other peopleโ and was a great cook.
