REUTERS/Valentyn Ogirenko Share FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 413 At least one Barbadian living in Ukraine has reached out to foreign affairs officials and is trying to flee the Eastern European country in the midst of a Russian invasion. “So far I have only a report of one person,” Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Trade Sandra Husbands told Barbados TODAY. It is unclear whether the person, apparently a student, is in immediate danger as missile strikes are reported near major cities. International news outlets have reported civilian deaths along with approximately 40 Ukrainian military casualties. “We don’t know as yet,” said Husbands, when asked if the Barbadian is in distress. “Our only information is that they are trying to get out to another country at the moment. So when we have an update, we’ll be able to say,” the Minister added. (kareemsmith@barbadostoday.bb) PHOTO: REUTERSย Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
