Labourer must stay away from Massy Stores

A 30-year-old labourer has been granted bail after spending some time on remand at Dodds Prison.

But Jules Everton Matthew Weekes’ pretrial liberty comes with conditions, including that he stays away from all Massy Stores on the island.

The resident of Upper Golf Club Road, Rockley, Christ Church must also report to Hastings/Worthing Police Station every Tuesday and Saturday before 1 p.m. with valid identification, and adhere to a daily 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew.

Weekes is charged that on December 17, 2021, he used unlawful violence towards Shawn Belgrave and his conduct was such that it would cause others present at the scene to fear for another person’s safety.

The accused, who is represented by attorney-at-law Desmond Sands, is also charged with committing assault.

He was granted bail in the sum of $8 000 with one surety and ordered to reappear before Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes at the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on September 13.
