A 26-year-old man died after being involved in an accident that occurred around 8:15 a.m., along Superlative Road, St George. The car driven by the deceased, whose name has not been disclosed, was involved in a collision with an articulated lorry driven by a 40-year man. A male passenger was also in the car. Police said the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when they collided head on. The car was extensively damaged and the two occupants had to be removed by officers from the Barbados Fire Service using the Jaws of Life. They were both taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The driver subsequently passed away while receiving treatment. The passenger is said to be in serious condition. Police gave no details about the condition of the lorry driver. Investigations are continuing.
