The Cox Hill, St Philip man is facing Justice Christopher Birch and a nine-member jury in Supreme Court No. 5a on charges of rape and kidnapping. He is alleged to have removed a woman from her residence in St Thomas against her will on August 2, 2004 and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent, knowing that she did not consent or being reckless as to whether she consented. Senior State Counsel Oliver Thomas who is prosecuting the case has called several witnesses, including the complainant and Station Sergeant Glenda Carter-Nicholls who took the complainantโs report on the matter. They gave their evidence in the matter on Wednesday. The accused is being represented by attorneys-at-law Michael Lashley Q.C., Simon Clarke, Ken Mason and Sade Harris.
