The Barbados Water Authority advises today Friday that crews are presently conducting emergency repairs to a burst on a large-sized main at Government Hill, St. Michael.

The burst has impacted the feed into two reservoirs that supply residents and businesses in several St. Michael and Christ Church districts.

Customers located along Highway 7 between Carters Gap in Christ Church and Jemmotts Lane in St. Michael as well as those in Belleville, Lower Collymore Rock, Dunlow Lane, Martindale’s Road, Nelson Street, Constitution Road, St. Michael’s Row, Roebuck Street and surrounding areas in St. Michael may be affected by low pressure or water outages. We strongly recommend that customers in these districts who still have a pipe-borne supply, store water to assist during the period of work.

Water tankers will be dispatched to assist customers in affected areas as a temporary measure. There may be delays due to heavy demand. (BGIS)
