These were two matches that were replayed having been previously affected by the rain. In the night cap match, Celtics edged Church Village Spartans B 75-68. They came from a quarter down 14-17 to lead 38-30 and 58-47 in the second and third stanzas against the St. Phillip based Spartans B side yesterday at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex. It was a collective effort from Celtics guards led by young Kaliel Austin with a contribution of 17 points and he received support in the scoring department from Mario Springer with a total of 15 points while the veteran Stephenson Callender and Rachad Hall tallied ten points each. The scoreline reflected the competitiveness of the encounter. Spartans held their own with Joshua Austin leading the way with 17 points. Also adding to the Spartans’ effort was Larry King with 14, Philip Harewood with 13 and Damen Skeete scored ten. In the opening match, Panthers got the better of Kolij Lions in a low-scoring affair, 53-41. They led from start to finish 15-7, 26-15, 36-28 over the first three periods. For Panthers, Jamon Phillips with 15 points and Orlando Goodridge 13 were the top scorers. Meanwhile, Yannick Burrowes of Lions had nine points his team.
