During the period October 17 to 20, schools across the island will host Open Days where parents and members of the public can visit and view the various arts/craft and science projects on display by students at the institutions. Among the activities planned by the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training are a panel discussion on “Healthy Minds & Healthy Bodies for Quality Living” and a lunch time concert. The panel discussion will be held online on Tuesday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. while the lunch-time concert will be hosted at the Speighstown Esplanade, St. Peter, on Wednesday, October 19, at noon. Hype Day will take place at various primary schools across the island, on Thursday, October 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Teachers’ Professional Day will be celebrated on Friday, October 21. While there will be no school for students on this day, teachers will engage in professional development activities on a variety of topics ranging from mental health to pedagogical issues. The week will end with a hike starting from Gun Hill Signal Station, St. George, from 6 a.m. on Saturday, October 22.
