She taught us various knife skills as well as the difference between flavouring and seasoning. One of my favourite sessions was croquettes and sushi because they contain very simple ingredients, but the end result is very fancy and delicious. This inspired me to become a chef so I can turn simple ingredients into gourmet dishes,” she said. Due to the overwhelming feedback that they received from the participants in Cookology Summer Hang as well as their parents, they decided to also team up with Chef Jashown Willoughby to host Cookology Saturday Hang for children ages nine to eighteen years old. The students will be trained in mixology, sushi-making, cake and pastry-making and so much more. “We had gotten such an overwhelming response from our summer programme that we realized that we need to continue our efforts in helping young people to be better able to navigate in the kitchen. This programme will assist young people who are interested in pursuing culinary arts as a career choice and give them a better understanding of culinary science whilst showing them practically what the industry entails in a professional yet fun environment,” she said.
