Two more of this country’s young men are on remand at Dodds Prison accused of having illegal firearms.

Rasheed Antonio Atkins, of Clapman Drive, St Michael was sent to the St Philip correctional facility after appearing before Magistrate Manila Renee on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old is accused of having an illegal gun and 13 rounds of ammunition on November 9. He was not required to plead to the indictable charges.

Atkins, who is represented by attorney-at-law Kyle Walkes, is also facing three drug charges of possession, possession with intent to supply and trafficking of cannabis on the same date.

He has been remanded to reappear before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court at Cane Garden, St Thomas on December 12.

The other accused, 34-year-old Mario Lamar Neblett, of 2nd Avenue Thomas Gap, President Kennedy Drive, St Michael appeared before Magistrate Renee recently.

Neblett is alleged to have had a firearm in his possession on November 7 and had no valid licence to do so. He was not required to plead as the matter is indictable.

The accused however will make his next appearance before the court on February 23, 2023. That date was given with his consent.

Neblett is represented by attorneys-at-law Michael Lashley K.C. and Sade Harris. Station Sergeant Vernon Waithe was the prosecutor.
