It went down to the wire but Blue House ended today victorious, capturing the top spot at the Blackman and Gollop Primary school sports, dethroning past shared champions, Red and Purple House.

Taking the crown with a total of 664 points, Blue House beat Purple House into second place with 634 points. In third was Green House with 542 points and Red House closed out the day in fourth with 507 points.

Winning five of the eight relays on the day at the school grounds definitely helped secure the win for Blue, cleaning up the hardware in the Under-nine Boys and Girls 4x100m relays, the Under-11 Girls and Under-13 Boys 4x100m relays and also the Open 800m Boys Medley relay.

Standing out for the champion house was little Ajheri Beckles, who won gold in the Under-nine Boys 80m in 12.50 seconds, just clipping Jaden Callender of Purple House, who clocked 12.60 seconds. In third was Shazari Maynard of Blue, finishing in 13.40 seconds.

Beckles continued his winning form, by taking the win in the Under-nine Boys 200m in 26.93 seconds, easing to victory ahead of Callender yet again, who was second in 27.72 seconds ahead of housemate Akili Ashton in 30.01 seconds.

Inaya Grimes of Purple House comfortably won the Under-13 Girls 400m at Blackman and Gollop Primary.

Arin Eastmond won the Under-11 Boys 400m for Blue House in 62.33 seconds while Zhariah Brathwaite of Purple took the gold medal in the Under-11 Girls 400m in 1:34.88 minutes.

Aria Clarke of Purple House was one of the most dominant athletes on the day, winning her Under-nine 80m, 100m and 200m events with class. She won in 10.00, 17.25 and 36.06 seconds. Though she may have won gold, Clarke had to fight hard for it against Maiya Robinson of Blue House in the 80m and 100m, who was just out leaned at the line by Clarke on both occasions.

Red House claimed the fastest races of the day, seeing Makayrie Doughty win the Under-13 Girls 100m sprint in 14.61 seconds. Saffire Green of Blue was second in 14.88 seconds and in third was Taliyah Grimes of Purple in 15.33 seconds.

In the big race for the boys, Davontae Ward of Red now wears the gold medal as the fastest boy at Blackman and Gollop Primary School, winning the Under-13 Boys 100m in 14.19 seconds. It was very close for second as Daniko Harris of Green and Omari Robinson of Blue crossed the line in 14.72 and 14.75 seconds respectively. Shamari King also slammed the field for Red House doing the double and winning the Under-11 Boys 100m and 200m sprints.
