FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 676 The Chefette Fun Run is back this year after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The highly-anticipated event will return to the south coast on Sunday May 28, kicking off at Chefette Rockley and climaxing at Chefette’s flagship branch in Fontabelle. At a brief media launch at Chefette’s Corporate Office, organiser of the event Dawn-Lisa Callendar-Smith, reminded attendees of the main goal behind the Fun Run — to continue to raise much-needed funds which will allow them to make meaningful contributions to the Aunty Olga Needy Children’s Fund. Monies donated to the fund will be used to purchase school supplies and other essential items for children in need. Beneficiaries of this fund are Variety the Children’s Charity, YWCA Barbados Breakfast Club and Precious Touch Foundation. Managing Director at Chefette Restaurants Ryan Haloute recalled that when he met the late Dame Olga Lopes-Sealy, affectionately known as Aunty Olga, she instilled in him the need to always give back, and he encouraged everyone to support the event. He thanked the sponsors and the team at Chefette for ‘stepping up’ during the last three years, even though there was no physical event.
