Airlines add more flight to Barbados

JetBlue and American Airlines are adding flights between popular United States gateways and Barbados to offer greater connectivity to the island.

JetBlue is extending its second daily flight from New York’s JFK airport through to September and October. The redeye was originally expected to end service in September.

For summer travel, American Airlines will add a daily flight from Miami International beginning August 15 through September 5, 2023, increasing flights to Barbados to three a day.

The airline will also add daily flights from Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT) to Barbados beginning December 21 through April 3, expanding the normal weekly service on that leg.

“We’re extremely excited to expand the airlift servicing our US market for 2023 and going into 2024,” stated Eusi Skeete, US Director, Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. “We understand that demand for the destination is very high and we’ve been working closely with our longstanding airline partners to meet this demand.

“We are continuously identifying growth opportunities to expand airlift across the US market and are quite optimistic for the prospect of increased service, particularly as demand for travel to Barbados remains high,” Skeete continued. “We will continue to work closely with our airline partners to create even more travel opportunities as we expand across the US.” (BT/Travel Weekly)
