Barbados’ equestrian queen Roberta Foster made history at the 25th edition of the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games by securing the island’s first individual medal in dressage.
Competing in the Intermediate Freestyle Grand Prix on Friday, Foster delivered an impressive performance astride her beautiful mare Chichic, with the vibrant sounds of Barbadian global star Rihanna resonating through the arena.
Her exceptional skill and creativity earned her a well-deserved score of 71.382, putting her in third position.
Foster now joins the ranks of other successful Barbadian athletes at this year’s CAC Games, including surfer Chelsea Tuach, who claimed gold, and boxer Jabali Breedy, who secured a bronze medal.
In the Intermediate Freestyle Grand Prix, Foster finished behind Juliana Guitierrez of Colombia, who achieved a score of 72.050, and the Dominican Republic’s gold medalist, Yvonne Losos, who earned an impressive 75.519.

Another noteworthy participant from Barbados in the event was Mackenzie Manning who achieved a commendable 12th place out of the 18 competitors.
Manning, a talented 23-year-old and a protégé of Roberta Foster, demonstrated her potential and secured a spot at this year’s Pan Am Games in Santiago, Chile.
