Ashley Lashley, the youth ambassador for the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), at a brief ceremony held on Tuesday, praised the young artists from Shirley Chisholm Primary School, St. Martin’s Mangrove Primary School, and Lester Vaughan School for their efforts in their respective fields and promised that more opportunities will be made available. These students from the Shirley Chisholm Primary School were seen fully decked out in the colours of the Grenadian flag. “Throughout this endorsement with us, they will receive various mentorship opportunities from prominent musicians in Barbados. We will be donating equipment to them to help propel their musical careers, and they will be taken on various media tours throughout this endorsement. Lester Vaughan School Band which recently showcased their musical talents at the launch ceremony of the Barbados Youth Climate Action Summit; Jazarie Belgrave, a young aspiring artist from the Shirley Chisholm Primary School and Trozary Payne, a budding DJ from St. Martin’s Mangrove Primary School, were presented with their endorsements from the Ashley Lashley Foundation during the ceremony, which also included the gifting of musical equipment. In recognition of CARICOM Day at the Shirley Chisholm Primary School, a number of installations featuring information on CARICOM states was also on display.
