In fact, it was more of a celebratory ceremony to honour the cultural icon and man of many talents. During what Bishop Marlon Jones dubbed a sending home service, hymns and musical tributes were upbeat as the officiant declared it was not necessarily an occasion for mourning but one to reflect on and celebrate the life of Yearwood, who was a high-spirited individual and would have wanted those gathered to think of the happy moments he shared with them. After the service, which was held at The Chapel of Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens in Christ Church, the procession to Yearwood’s nearby burial site was led by a tuk band. (SZB) ]]>
