The Ministry of Health and Wellness has resumed its weekly fogging schedule in some Christ Church and St Michael districts.

After declaring a dengue fever outbreak earlier this month, fogging is one of several measures the ministry is employing as part of its response to eradicate the aedes aegypti mosquito which transmits dengue, in addition to source reduction and personal protection.

After fogging Christ Church neighbourhoods on Wednesday and Thursday, the team from the Ministry’s Vector Control Unit will fog Pickwick Gap, Westbury Road, New Orleans avenues, Baxter’s Road, Spencer’s Gap, Kensington New Road, Fontabelle, President Kennedy Drive, and surrounding areas on Friday.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors so that the spray can enter. (BGIS)
