Share FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 416 Seventy-seven aspiring youth are training to be the next group of entrepreneurs in the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme’s (YES) Entrepreneurial Development Training programme. The 2023 -2024 session of the training programme, which promotes self-employment and stimulates business development in the country, got underway recently at the Ministry of Youth’s Training Room. In his address at the opening ceremony, Acting Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Davidson Ishmael, said: “It [Entrepreneurship] is going to require time, energy and dedication from you… and another word that comes to mind is sacrifice. Personal sacrifice, financial sacrifice. It will require you to go above and beyond what you’re accustomed.” Ishmael reminded the trainees that entrepreneurship was “a journey” and some journeys “started out slowly and hard”, but if they persevered they would reap the benefits. “It will give you the money you’re looking for, the freedom you’re looking for, it will give you the flexibility you’re looking for. There are many knock-on benefits that will come over the course of time,” he maintained. The topics to be covered during the training include Personal Image Management; My Cell Phone, My Business Tool; How to Start a Business, and Costing and Pricing. It is being conducted in person and online and will run until March 7, 2024.
