Shades of Barbados has donated $11 200 to Cancer Support Services.
Shades of Barbados, a family run business at Paynes Bay, raised the money via a charity golf tournament.
The event attracted a record 32 players this year with 22 of them flying in especially for the tournament.
“As there was not much local sponsorship, the golfers had to dig deep to reach the target, which was to surpass last year’s figure ($10,0000, and they did it,” Shades of Barbados said in a news release. “This year the Shades of Barbados Golf Tournament proudly raised $11,200.”
The donation was presented by Errol McCollin, his brother, Bernard McCollin and niece Rochelle McCollin to Cancer Support Services on November 24. Receiving the donation on behalf of the charity were Carlyle Best, Chair of the management team; Janette Lynton, Executive Director; and Victorious Ladies Beyond Surviving Dr. Dawn Gayapersad and Marilyn Currency.
Cancer Support Services is a voluntary organisation that supports cancer patients and their carers with a focus on prostate cancer in the month of November.
Shades of Barbados has expressed thanks to local and international sponsors for their generosity.
