The event, attended by almost 200 businesswomen adorned in red attire, exuded glitz, glamour, and radiant energy. The occasion aimed to encourage women to embrace their inner light and inspire others to explore limitless possibilities. This yearly gathering has become a fixture on the Boss Ladies United calendar, fostering collaboration over competition among women in society. The INSPIRE dinner and awards event is designed to fuel passion, leaving attendees feeling empowered and energised to pursue their aspirations. Founder Alison Browne-Ellis emphasised the importance of stepping into the light for personal growth. She urged attendees to use their talents and gifts to benefit others, highlighting the necessity of moving out of the shadows to evolve into their best selves. Guest speaker Director of Public Prosecutions Donna Babb-Agard SC urged women to embrace their uniqueness and support one another. She addressed the challenges women sometimes create for each other and emphasised the strength found in unity. “We are way better together than apart,” she insisted, encouraging professionals, business leaders, and owners not to let life’s adversities dim their spark. For the second consecutive year, the event featured entertainment, giveaways, and the presentation of Be Inspired awards. Recipients included Zelma Irish, recognised as an entrepreneurial powerhouse; internationally recognised gospel artist Neesha Woods; Kimisha King, an author and inspirational speaker; Keri Mapp, a service activist who won the Paul Harris Award; and Professor The Most Honourable Eudine Barriteau, who was hailed for impactful leadership in Caribbean feminism. Co-founder Keri Mapp expressed the team’s commitment to investing in the future, aiming to empower promising individuals on their educational journey. Another co-founder, Tricia Griffith, presented a monetary donation to the Jabez House, the charity that serves as a haven of hope for female sex workers.
