#BTNewYear’sMessage – Private sector confident about 2024

New Year’s Message by Trisha Tannis, Chairman of the Barbados Private Sector Association.

On the behalf of the Barbados Private Sector Association and its member associations, I wish to convey the warmest New Year greetings to all Barbadians and Friends of Barbados.

As we look back on 2023, I am immensely proud to reflect on our collective achievements which have manifested in continued economic growth, falling inflation and decreased levels of crime within our nation.

Though we have no control over external factors and their ability to impact on our fortunes, the Barbados Private Sector is yet confident in our ability as a nation to continually chart our path to prosperity.

In this regard the Barbados Private Sector Association is keen to work with our partners to continue Barbados’ transition to net zero emissions, to implement the Declaration of Missions Barbados and to increase Barbados’ exports of goods and services.

Similarly, we look forward to the Government of Barbados’ hosting of the first UNCTAD Global Supply Chain Forum in 2024 which will address trade facilitation and global shipping prices in an effort to further drive inflation downwards in Barbados and other Small Island Developing States.

On behalf of all of us at the BPSA, I extend my heartfelt wishes for a joyful, healthy, and prosperous New Year to you and your loved ones. May your year ahead be filled with inspiration, growth, and fulfillment.
