President of Senegal Macky Sall left Barbados on Thursday morning after what officials said was a successful two-day visit to the island, the first by a leader from a French-speaking African nation.

He departed shortly after 10 a.m., a day after he and his delegation engaged in bilateral talks with Barbadian officials an signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperation between the two nations.

When he arrived at the Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) for his flight, President Sall briefly engaged with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Kerrie Symmonds before he boarded the plane which was seen off by members of the Barbados Police Force Band and Barbados Coast Guard.
