Christ Church Girls’ School (CCG) successfully defended their title while St Giles Primary captured the boys’ title in the Holiday/Bermudez James Wedderburn Zone of the Chefette Frosteez National Primary School Athletic Championships (NAPSAC) on Monday.

Aimeree Thompson, last year’s leading points scorer, proved unstoppable once again. The CCG standout amassed a remarkable 30 points, securing the coveted Victrix Ludorum title and solidifying her status as a force to be reckoned with.

CCG’s overall performance mirrored Thompson’s brilliance. With a commanding 370 points, they left their competitors in the dust as they led all four girls’ divisions with athletes like Livia Forde (Under-7) Kamya Lashley (Under- 9), Nevaeh Winfield (Under-11), and Jendaya Burke (Under-13) all contributing significantly to their school’s victory.

St Giles Primary displayed unwavering strength in the boys’ division. They racked up a dominant 298 points, leaving St Stephen’s Primary (208.5 points) and St Christopher Primary (168 points) trailing behind. The emergence of young talents like Atavio Maynard (Under-7), Kenyjah Hoyte (Under-9, joint Victor Ludorum), and Savion Jones (Under-13, joint Victor Ludorum) propelled St Giles to the top of the leaderboard as they also captured all four division titles in the zone.

The James Wedderburn Zone wasn’t just about the champions. Schools like Roland Edwards Primary, St Stephen’s Primary, St Christopher Primary and St Lucy Primary displayed promising athletes across various age groups, keeping the competition fierce. Under-9 competitor from Roland Edwards Primary, Diamond Kellman and Amelio Boxill, an Under-11 athlete from St Stephen’s Primary, were just a few examples of the exceptional talent on display. (CG)
