Track and field powerhouses Williams Industries West Terrace Tigers and Fashion Nation Bayleys Panthers roared to victory in their respective zones when the Chefette/Frosteez National Primary Schools Athletic Championships (NAPSAC) continued at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex today.

West Terrace, the defending NAPSAC girls’ champions, were in a league of their own in the Nation Publishing Patsy Callender Zone on their way to easily winning both the boys’ and girls’ titles.

Their 264.5 points in the boys left second placed Shirley Chishom (178) and St Winifred’s (154) in their wake with Mount Tabor finishing fourth on 151 points.

West Terrace’s girls were similarly outstanding on their way to accumulating 293.5 points, comfortably ahead of Shirley Chishom which totaled 207 points to finish second and St Alban’s Primary (198.5).

Fittingly, Roosalie O’Neal of West Terrace was named joint victrix ludorum with St Alban’s Royalty Goddard, after they both ended on 30 points.

O’Neal won the Under-11 girls’ 100 metres (14.93 seconds), 200 metres (31.65) and the long jump with a leap of 3.53 metres.

Goddard was victorious in the Under-9 girls’ 80 metres (12.93), 100 metres (16.35) and 150 metres (24.74).

Nathan Augustin of Mount Tabor was the top boy, taking home the coveted victor ludorum title with 30 points after winning the 80 metres (12.76), 100 metres (16.07) and the 150 metres (23.81).

Meanwhile in the Milo Obadele Thompson Zone, Bayleys produced a sensational performance on their way to doing the double.

Among the boys they amassed a mammoth 372 points, leaving St Cyprian’s Boys’ (190), Milton Lynch Primary (165.5) and Belmont Primary (118.5) in their wake.

Bayleys’ girls also set the Ryan Brathwaite Track on fire, with their 346 points considerably more than Hindsbury which finished second on 209 points, while Belmont (131) and St Judes Primary (126) finished third and fourth respectively.

The St Philip school also left their mark on the victor and victrix ludorum titles.

Their Under-13 duo of Nadra Gollop and Aaliyah Stevenson were named victrix ludorum after they both totaled 28 points.

Gollop won the Open girls’ 600 metres (1:59.08), the 400 metres (1:12.38) and placed second in the 100 metres (14.70), while Stevenson won the shot put (6.36m), the Open girls’ high jump (1.20m) and came second in the long jump (3.56m).

Their schoolmate Aiden Lynch was crowned victor ludorum after winning the Open boys’ 800 metres (2:51.64), the long jump (3.95m) and placing second in the high jump (1.20m). (RB)
