In recognition that Barbadians aged 40 to 59 will form the older demographic in the future, the Barbados Association of Retired Persons (BARP), in collaboration with the Ministry of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, has stressed the need for a comprehensive approach. Such an approach includes social inclusion, protection policies, healthcare enhancements, and community engagement. In 2021, BARP adjusted the entry age from 50 to 40 in anticipation of the future senior population in 2050. The upcoming conference is therefore aimed at preparing BARP members for this demographic shift and is open to individuals aged 40 to 59. Registration is online at info@barpbb.com, and closes at midnight on Wednesday, April 3. There is no registration fee but space is limited. For further information, interested persons may call BARP at 538-2277, or email communications@barpbb.org. (BGIS) Barbados Today Stay informed and engaged with our digital news platform.
