In an update, QEH officials said that the healthcare institution’s Operating Theatres (OTs) recommenced elective surgical admissions at 8 a.m. Authorities explained the decision had to be taken after the Recovery Room reached close to capacity levels at the weekend when the hospital registered an influx of trauma-related cases. “This resulted in the QEH management taking proactive steps to accommodate other potential emergency surgeries presented to the OTs,” Communications Specialist Shane Sealy explained.
