Competitors from Suriname put on a dominant display on their way to capturing the top spots in the men’s bodybuilding at the IFBB Elite Pro Roger Boyce World Cup.

The Garfield Sobers Sports Complex in Barbados echoed with cheers on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, as the IFBB Elite Pro Roger Boyce World Cup

Eddy Wilson, a familiar face on the IFBB stage, emerged victorious, claiming his second successive title at the IFBB Elite Pro Roger Boyce Classic and World Cup.

Wilson’s journey to the top has been impressive. He etched his name in bodybuilding history with a second-place finish at the prestigious Arnold Classic Europe in the super-heavyweight division back in 2011.

This achievement marked a turning point, leading him to switch to the IFBB Elite Pro league in 2017. Since then, he has amassed a string of victories, including the 2019 Darcy Beckles Barbados Diamond Cup Pro and the 2022 Roger Boyce Elite Pro Classic.

While Wilson reigned supreme, he wasn’t the only Surinamese athlete to shine. Soepe Koese and Jermaine Karg secured the second and third positions respectively, completing a remarkable sweep for their nation.

The Barbadian contingent also displayed strong performances, with Ramon Broomes finishing a commendable fourth and Nicholas Harris, who earned his pro card earlier in the day, securing a solid fifth place, proving his earlier success was no fluke.

Another Barbadian, Kirk Alleyne, reached the semi-final stage.

In the classic physique, Belgium’s Joseph Peter came away with the victory over Mexico’s Oscar Lopez and crowd favourite, hometown boy Lamarr Coward.

The IFBB Elite Pro Roger Boyce World Cup served as a platform for exceptional bodybuilding talent. Wilson’s dominant victory, coupled with the impressive showing of Surinamese, Barbadian Antigua and Barbuda and Belgium athletes, solidified the high caliber of competition on display.

This event undoubtedly leaves fans eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the ever-evolving world of professional bodybuilding.
