At approximately 10:40 a.m., a private aircraft with registration number N42821 experienced a landing gear malfunction upon arrival at the airport. The aircraft was inbound from Saint Lucia. โIt appeared that the landing gear of the private aircraft did not deploy, but it is currently on the runway at GAIA safely,โ said Sharleen Brown, Corporate Communication Specialist with GAIA, in a statement. She confirmed that all three individuals on boardโtwo passengers and a pilotโwere unharmed. The runway has been closed for inspections by the Civil Aviation Authority and the Barbados Police Service. Brown has assured that further updates on the situation will be provided as they become available. Travellers are also advised to check with their airlines for the latest information on flight schedules and delays.
