Traffic Management for “Grand Kadooment” on Monday August 5th, 2024

The Crop Over Festival “Grand Kadooment” will be held on Monday 5th August 2024. This event is the final event on the Crop Over calendar and will commence from 6:00 a.m to 10:00 p.m. The bands will parade only along the route, commencing at Helipad Car Park and proceed along Hincks Street, Princess Alice Highway, Prescod Boulevard, Elsie Payne Round-a-bout, President Kennedy Drive, Eagle Hall, Black Rock Main Road, Frank Worrell Round-a-bout and the Mighty Grynner Highway in the parish of Saint Michael.

EMERGENCY ROUTE:

Commences at The Mighty Grynner Highway, and proceeds along Exmouth Gap, Westbury Road, Passage Road, Country Road, Roebuck Street, Halls Road and Martindale’s Road in the parish of Saint Michael;

ROAD CLOSURE:

The following roads shall be closed to all vehicular traffic, except in respect of vehicles used in the Kadooment Day Parade and vehicles used by members of the Festival Committee.

(a) Wharf Road

(b) Hincks Street

(c) Princess Alice Highway

(d) Redman Drive

(e) Prescod Boulevard

(f) Fontabelle Road

(g) Westbury Road

(h) President Kennedy Drive

(i) Eagle Hall Road

(j) Black Rock Road

(k) Holborn Circle

(l) Mighty Grynner Highway

On “Kadooment Day” between 06:00 a.m and 10:00 p.m, The Mighty Grynner Highway from its junction with Holborn Circle to its junction with Frank Worrell Round-a-bout & Black Rock Road in the parish of Saint Michael, shall be closed to all vehicular traffic except vehicles used in the Kadooment Day Parade and vehicles used by members of the Festival Committee.

Between 6:00 a.m and 10:00 p.m no person shall drive along, park or allow a vehicle to remain stationary on the parade route.

These rules do not apply to vehicles used by The Barbados Police Service (TBPS), The Barbados Defence Force (BDF), The Barbados Fire Service (BFS) or any other emergency vehicles.

The Barbados Police Service (TBPS) apologizes for the anticipated traffic flow disruptions and thanks the general public, for their cooperation in this matter.
