Coconut vendor Kamal Kemar Harewood was granted bail on Tuesday when he appeared before a Bridgetown court on a wounding charge.

Harewood, 27, of Fordes Road, Clapham, St Michael is accused of unlawfully and maliciously wounding Devon Cox on July 30.

The accused, who is represented by attorney-at-law Nevile Reid, pleaded not guilty to the charge before Magistrate Manila Renee.

There was no objection from prosecuting Sergeant Richard Ellis and Harewood was granted $2 500 after his surety was accepted.

He will make his next appearance before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on December 10. In the meantime, he has been warned to stay away from the virtual complainant until the case is heard in court.
