The wave is currently tracking west-northwestward at 10 -15mph. On its current track, the system is expected to be in our area sometime Monday, September 2 into Tuesday, September 3. The BMS advises that during this time, moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorm activity are likely, and relevant watches or warnings may be issued as necessary. The forecasters also advised that light winds are forecast for the remainder of the week and into the weekend. This will result in uncomfortable temperatures across the island. Additionally, localized [shower] activity is likely across western and northwestern districts during the afternoons. The BMS added that given that some areas may become further saturated, the potential for flash flooding is higher over the coming days.
