(FP) FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 1.5K Police have launched an urgent search for a 19-year-old prisoner who escaped custody on Sunday evening while receiving medical attention at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Rashad Kankakee, of McClean Road, Silver Sands, Christ Church, who was being held in connection with a series of serious matters, made his escape after requesting to use the bathroom at the hospitalโs Accident and Emergency Department. Despite being under police guard, Kankakee managed to flee through a window in the lavatory. Authorities immediately conducted searches of the surrounding area but were unable to locate the fugitive. A wanted man bulletin has since been issued. The Barbados Police Service is urging the public to come forward with any information regarding Kankakeeโs whereabouts.ย โAnyone who has seen Rashad or has any knowledge of where he might be hiding is encouraged to contact Police Emergency at 211 or any police station or Crime Stoppers at 1 800 8477,โ a statement said. Law enforcement officials have also issued a stern reminder to the public that harbouring a wanted person or an escaped prisoner is a criminal offence.
