The BMS says intense shower activity will continue throughout the afternoon across various districts in the central and northern parishes of the island. It noted that heavy showers have already resulted in flooding across portions of St Michael and St Thomas. The forecasters say the activity is a result of light winds due to a trough system that is passing north of island and strong daytime heating The flash flood warning will be terminated at 6 p.m., or sooner if conditions warrant.
