Wanderers recorded a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over Fusion Boutique Spartan to climb to the top of the standings with 53 points as the fourth series of games in the Barbados Cricket Association Elite three-day competition concluded on Sunday.
Playing at the Dayrells Road grounds Spartan resumed the day with a 69-run lead and seven wickets in hand. Captain Ian Boyce was the main bowler for the Wanderers team as he picked up three wickets for 79 runs in 16 overs with his off spin to reduce Spartan to 165 aqll out. It was an all-round team effort as every bowler used was able to pick up at least one wicket. Jourdan Niles 2/16, Isaiah Folkes 2/18, Kraigg Brathwaite 1/8, Kyron King 1/18 and Jair McAllister 1/24.
Chasing 166 to win, West Indies captain Brathwaite set the tone with a solid 46 in 45 balls while the in-form Jonathan Drakes cruised to an unbeaten 85 in 80 balls, which included 8 fours and 3 sixes, Tevyn Walcott was also not out on 33 as Wanderers closed the game at 166/2 in 29.3 overs.

Empire pulled out a thrilling victory just before the end of the day’s play as they defeated Superb Blend Gladiola by three wickets.
Coming into day 3, Gladiola held a 72-run lead with seven wickets in hand. All rounder Giovante Depeiza top scored with a well played 45 in 77 balls as they declared their innings on 171/9. Jomel Warrican was the leading bowler for Empire with figures of four for 62 with his left arm spin while Jaden Edmund picked up three for 40.
Chasing 182 for victory on a ground that is played with threes and fours boundaries, Empire lost two early wickets with the score on four and 31. Opening batter and captain, Shian Brathwaite steadied the ship as he and Shakkae Marshall built a 90-run partnership for the third wicket. Marshall scored 36 in 37 balls as Brathwaite recorded a half century, 57 in 65 balls. Shaquille Cumberbatch played an important innings with 26 in 20 balls as Empire scored 185/7 in 27.5 overs. The men from Bank Hall move to 50 points and are second in the standings after 4 series of games.

Bayview Hospital YMPC and IGS Insurance Brokers Yorkshire played to an exciting draw as fading light brought an end to what would have been an epic run chase. Requiring a mammoth 294 runs for victory, Yorkshire reached 287/4 in 49 overs as bad light stopped play with the home team falling 7 runs short of a win.
YMPC began the day on 141/4, as they batted a further 10 overs before declaring on 223/6. Raymond Kellman who retired hurt on day 2 ended on 71 not out with 7 fours and 4 sixes while Kemar Smith fell 1 run short of a half century, scoring 49 in 49 balls, Jaden Norville also chipped in with 42. Off Spinner Indal Persaud took 3/66 for Yorkshire.
Yorkshire’s opening batters came out with intent to chase the huge 4th innings total, Zidane Harewood (42 in 34) and Athelbert Brathwaite (46 in 59) recorded an 84-run opening stand, while number 3 batter Shakeel Richards scored 88 in 106 balls before retiring hurt. Indal Persaud also recorded a half century as he remained unbeaten on 53 before play ended around 5:30 p.m.
