Met Office monitoring system to the north-northeast

The Barbados Meteorological Services is closely monitoring the progress of an area of low pressure located about 280 miles to the north-northeast of the island.

It is expected to track north of Barbados today into Friday; as such, no direct impacts are likely.

“Environmental conditions are marginally conducive to the slow development of the feature later this week,” the BMS said. “As the feature nears the island chain, light wind speeds are anticipated today . . ., resulting in warm daytime temperatures with possible isolated localised shower activity into the afternoon.”

The public is encouraged to monitor the BMS, DEM, and GIS websites and their respective social media pages along with the local media networks for further updates over the coming days.
