Update: Man, 24, dies at QEH after Black Rock shooting incident

Police have identified Caleb Waithe, 24, of Small Land, Bridge Gap, St Michael as the man shot at Belfield Land, Black Rock, St Michael around 1:15 p.m.

According to lawmen, Waithe was sitting on the step of an apartment when an assailant dressed in all black and wearing a mask approached him from the right side. The assailant fired one shot, injuring Waithe.

Waithe was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in a private motor car where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone with information about the incident, to contact the Criminal Investigations Department  (Central) at 430-7189/90, the Black Rock Police Station at 417-7500, Police Emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS ( 8477) or any police station
