According to police, the man who was driving towards Applewaites attempted to overtake another vehicle but lost control, resulting in him being ejected from the vehicle. Ambulance personnel summoned to the scene found no signs of life. A medical doctor later confirmed the death. Passengers in the van were injured and transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance. Police are continuing investigations.
