Quickstop Finance Center opens in Bridgetown

Quickstop Finance Center (Quickstop) launched in Barbados last December and is already transforming how Barbadians access credit.

At its branch grand opening event at Satjay Bridgetown Centre, Operations Manager Victor Chan highlighted how customers are often surprised by Quickstop’s rapid same-day loan approval process.

“Everyone really reacts in shock when we tell them that they can have a seat or take a walk around the block and come back. Maybe within half an hour and they should get their funds.”

Chan also encouraged first-time borrowers to leverage Quickstop as a stepping-stone toward financial stability.

“I think it is a great place to start building your financial stability and trying to learn how to manage your finances. As long as you’re 18, you’re working and you’ve been working for three months, and you can give us your proof of income, then we are able to assist you with a loan.”

Senior Director of Operations Shamira Young emphasised Quickstop’s commitment to personalised service, noting that Bridgetown branch employees are locally hired.

“We hire all Barbadians here at our Quickstop Finance Center store in Bridgetown. They come in, we train them fully from the ground up, learning our products and understanding the quality of service we want to bring to our customers. That’s key.”

Young praised the ease of doing business in Barbados, highlighting the efficiency of government agencies experienced by Quickstop.

“Walking into some of the government offices and the help that they are willing to give is phenomenal. I was a bit hesitant and had my reluctance, but being on the ground, working with the different offices, trying to get established, I was very happy with how smooth that went.
