The striking workers have voiced their grievances to the Barbados Workers Union (BWU). Dwaine Paul, the union’s deputy general secretary, met with the disgruntled employees and confirmed that the walkout stems from long-standing issues that have remained unresolved. Paul told reporters the issues center around low wages, job misclassification, a lack of adequate personal protective equipment (PPE), and the recent unfair dismissal of a colleague. The BWU is now seeking to engage with Preconco’s management to address the workers’ grievances.
