Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward. In several videos that went viral later in the day, the deceased—later identified as Amani Kanye Lorde of Hutson Alley, Mason Hall Street, The City—could be seen in an altercation with another man while wielding a cutlass before being fatally stabbed. According to Acting Inspector Ryan Brathwaite, about 2:30 p.m. on Friday, a police officer on duty along Holetown Road received a report of an altercation between two men on First Street. He said: “The officer responded and saw the motionless body of a male lying on the roadway along First Street at its junction with Holetown Road. “Investigations reveal that the deceased was involved in a dispute with another man when he was fatally stabbed. A medical doctor visited the scene and pronounced death.
