(FB) Share FacebookTwitterLinkedinWhatsappEmail 304 Transport Board Chief Executive Officer Fabian Wharton has issued an urgent warning about fraudulent social media posts claiming the state-run agency is offering six months of unlimited bus travel for just $4.59 as part of its 70th anniversary celebrations. The misleading post, which has been widely circulated online and impersonates the official Transport Board account, states: “Free public transport travel for Barbados residents! The Transport Board is celebrating its birthday and offering a 6 month card for only Bds$4.59! Get your new card and enjoy unlimited bus rides for 6 months for only Bds$4.59! Hurry up, only 500 cards are available at a special price!” Wharton on Thursday dismissed the message as entirely fictitious. “There is no truth to that, it is fake, this is about the fourth time in the past months that we have been getting reports of this nature,” he told Barbados TODAY. The post falsely implies the promotion is part of the Transport Board’s 70th anniversary on June 1.
