Centuries from Pickwick’s Hope and Ryan highlight day 2 in championship

Kyle Hope and Rohan Ryan slammed unbeaten centuries to lead ESA Field Pickwick to 306 for 3 after day two of the fourth series in the 2025 Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) Elite division three-day Championship on Saturday.

Hope and Ryan stood in a 193-run fourth-wicket partnership as Pickwick led Sagicor Windward on first innings by 165 runs heading into day three at the Foursquare Oval. Hope batted for 108 balls and struck 8 fours along with 7 sixes to record his 14th top-level century, while Ryan faced 153 balls and hit 10 fours with 1 six for his second Elite ton.

Earlier in the day Windward were bowled out for 141 after resuming from their day one score of 71/5. Veteran pacer Tino Best picked up 4 for 39 while Jatario Prescod grabbed 3 for 9.

Jadan Jones continued his consistent form with 43 for YMPC against Wanderers.

Defending champions Wanderers require a further 193 runs for victory with all ten wickets in hand against Bayview Hospital YMPC at their home turf in Dayrells Road.

Resuming the day on 52/2, Wanderers were bowled out two runs short on first innings for 128 as left arm spinner Shamar Marshall picked up 6 for 33 for YMPC.

Batting for the second time, YMPC scored 210 in 39 overs to set up an interesting run chase going into day three. Jadan Jones top scored with 43 as former West Indies Captain Kraigg Brathwaite picked up 5 for 20 with his gentle off-spin.

Armani Best made a well played 88 for Yorkshire vs Empire at Friendship.

Armani Best stroked a well played 88 as IGS Insurance Brokers Yorkshire currently lead Empire by 174 runs with two wickets in hand.

Coming into day two with a 46-run lead and 5 wickets in hand, Empire declared their innings at 206 for 9 with an overall lead of 85 runs. Kevin Stoute top scored with 56 while Kofi Hurdle made 42.

Playing at home and facing a deficit, Dario Boyce and Best brought life back into the Yorkshire team. Boyce scored 63 in 77 balls while Best faced 96 balls for his 88 which included 14 fours. Left arm spinner Jomel Warrican has so far sent down 21 overs and picked up 3 for 54.
