Bolden, Williams get into 90’s, Boyce picks up 7 in three-day championship

Front runners Wildey began the fifth series of games in the 2025 Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) Elite division three-day championship with a steady batting display led by Nimar Bolden at Dash Valley on Saturday.

Bolden missed out on a deserving century as he scored a patient 95 from 149 balls, which included 6 fours. He shared a 112-run partnership with Shanaldo Taylor for the fourth wicket as Taylor missed out on a half century by one run when he was bowled by Jair McAllister for 49.

Demetrius Richards also got into the forties, making 45. Wildey ended the day on 243 for 8, while off-spinner Zephan Brown led the way for the defending champions with 3 wickets for 37 runs.

Tennyson Roach (Windward) plays an elegant shot to the boundary during his half century against Empire.

Sagicor Windward picked up maximum batting points when they raced to 295 all out in 53 overs against Empire at Bank Hall.

All rounder Chad Williams was the second batter on the day to miss out on a hundred when he made 90 in 77 balls, Williams was ably supported by Captain Tennyson Roach (52), Naje Bishop (48) and the tournament’s leading run scorer, Seth Agard, who made 46.

Camarie Boyce grabbed 7 wickets for Empire against Windward at Bank Hall.

Left arm spinner Camarie Boyce put together a strong bowling performance for the home team with 7 wickets in 21 overs. In reply, Empire ended the day on 8 without loss.

Javed Leacock was key for UWI as they dismissed Pickwick for 156.

The University of the West Indies (UWI) hold the upper hand after day one against ESA Field Pickwick, with leg spinner Javed Leacock picking up four wickets at the Foursquare Oval.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Pickwick were moving along comfortably at 115 for 3 with Captain Rohan Ryan eyeing another big score. Pickwick then lost the plot as they fell to 116 for 7 in a matter of three overs. Leacock removed Yvan Grant, Shamar Forde and the dangerous Kyle Hope with his excellent bowling within that period. Ryan top scored with 60 from 103 balls.

After a slight recovery between Jatario Prescod (15) and Preston Clarke (23), Pickwick were eventually bowled out for 156. Leacock ended with 4 for 43 in 18 overs while UWI closed the day on 7 for 1 from 4 overs.
